DW AKADEMIE and CRG in collaboration with local partner Nepal Institute of Peace organized an Inaugural Conference of the South Asia Network for Communication, Displacement and Migration (SAN-CDM) on “Displacements and Vulnerabilities: A Conference on Forced Migration and Media in South Asia” in Lalitpur (Nepal) on 4 to 7 February, 2023. The event provided a forum for consultative and interactive discussions between journalists, academics, community members and civil society actors, through exchange of knowledge, expertise and ideas on media coverage of refugee and migrant issues in South Asia. The event was attended by 35 participants representing civil society organizations, international non-governmental agencies, journalists and media persons from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, India of South Asia in addition to Germany.
